Broiler prices in Turkey have risen

Domestic production of chicken in Turkey is expected to have a slow growth this year, despite increased demand, according to the latest USDA report. Restrictions applied in the foodservice sector along with high feed prices are taking their toll on the industry's output. There was an increase of 60% in feed prices last year, said the report.

According to the outlook, chicken meat production will not surpass 2.17 million tonnes this year (+1.5% from last year), while in 2022 it will reach 2.23 million tonnes (+3%). For the last 15 years, Turkish chicken sector averaged a 7% production growth rate but this level seems to be impossible to achieve this year.
