British MP's are urging the Government to build Uk's brand for food export

EFRA Committee inside the British Parliament is going to release today the Report on Brand Britain, with alarming conclusions regarding the government involvement in supporting the F&B industry.
"Trade is vital for the UK food and farming industries. Food and drink manufacturing contributes £28.2 billion to the economy annually Today we published our Report on Brand Britain, urging the Government to build Britain's global brand for food and drink," announce the Committee in a Tweet.
At the same time, Neil Parish, a member of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Committee, said: "What the current approach to marketing and export is lacking is ambition or strategic thinking - the Government cannot afford to be complacent at a time of such grave importance to the food and drink sector".
British Meat Processor Association, National Farmers' Union, British Poultry Council and other organizations in the Food sector have criticized before the Government's lack of vision in negotiating with the EU and third countries trade deals that are going to came in effect in a post-Brexit era. Right now, the Government is assessing for the first time in 75 years the national food strategy but the review may take between 12 and 18 months.
