Brazilian poultry makes a comeback in Arab markets in April

Brazil’s poultry exports in Arab countries have increased during last month, with 5 of those entering the top 10 destinations. Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Egypt, and Oman imported a combined 130.8 million tons, up 51.3% year-on-year according to data from the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce. Combined revenue was $212 million, up 60.2%.

Brazil's exports to its top 13 Arab markets – including Iraq, Yemen, Qatar, Jordan, Libya, Bahrain, Lebanon, and Sudan – also went up. According to data presented, the UAE, Egypt, and Oman increased their imports by rates far exceeding the regionwide average. In April,  338,900 tons of poultry shipped from Brazil, up 34.9% from a year ago, according to MenaFN magazine.

Poultry exports from Brazil amounted to 1.28 million tons year-to-date through April, up 0.8% year-on-year, the Brazilian Animal Protein Association ( ABPA ) reported, with revenue going up 1.1% to $2.11 billion. Arab countries imported 359,500 tons worth of poultry from Brazil, up 6.3% year-on-year, with expenditure going up 12% to $792.4 million.
