Brazilian pork exports grow 17.8 percent in November
In revenue, the increase is even more expressive, with growth of 35.1%, with a total of US$ 230.5 million in November of this year, compared to US$ 170.6 million registered in the eleventh month of 2021.In the year (January to November), the exported volume reached 1.017 million tons, a number 2.8% lower than that registered between January and November 2021, with 1.047 million tons. In revenue, the result of exports in the year reached US$ 2.319 billion, a figure 5.3% lower than that recorded in 2021, with US$ 2.449 billion.ABPA president Ricardo Santin details that the average exports recorded in the second half reached 101.4 thousand tons, surpassing the levels recorded in the same period of 2021, of 95.7 thousand tons.“In the entire history of pork exports, there has not been a semester with a performance as expressive as the one recorded at the end of the year. The international market is demanding Brazilian products. This scenario allowed the sector to regain strength and ship accumulated volumes in 2022 very close to what we saw last year, when we recorded export records. These are fundamental currencies for the industry and the country, at a time of economic recovery, given that the sector has not yet overcome the impacts of high production costs”, said the president of ABPA, Ricardo Santin.Considering only the month of November, China, the main destination for Brazilian pork exports, increased its purchases by 95% compared to the same period last year, with a total of 42.8 thousand tons. Assuming for the first time the second place in Brazilian exports, Chile imported 7.7 thousand tons (+53%). “We have positive expectations about the closing of this year, and even more positive impacts are expected with the opening of the markets in Mexico and Canada, two of the largest importers of pork on the planet, which this year opened their doors to the Brazilian product” , adds ABPA markets director Luís Rua.
