Brazilian meat is increasingly conquering halal markets

Egypt alone imported 54,888 tons in the first four months of this year, an increase of 279.1% compared to the same period in 2021, which was 14,478 thousand tons, according to data released by the Brazilian Ministry of Economy.

In the United Arab Emirates, the increase was 17.6%, totaling 17,466 tons in this first four-month period. And, in third place, no less important, was Saudi Arabia, importing 12,649 tons.

The amount exported in these first four months was US$ 580 million, an increase of 56.5%. In volume they were 139,997 tons in 2022 compared to 93,638 tons in 2021.

In total, imports from nearly 40 Muslim-majority countries were analysed. Countries like Oman, Kuwait, Gambia, Morocco, Mauritania. About 90% of Brazilian slaughterhouses are qualified to produce halal animal protein.
