Brazil is asking for a new technical mission from China

Brazilian Agriculture Minister Blairo Maggi is making a visit in Beijing and is trying to convince the Chinese Minister of Commerce Zhong Shan to re-evaluate a number of 84 meat processing units in the country in order to get a green light for exports.
"We received the confirmation that a technical mission goes to Brazil until the beginning of June for a survey with specialists and, if everything is correct, we will have the release of dozens of new meatpacking facilities to export here. Our goal is to release 84 new plants", declared Maggi on his Facebook account.
A similar statement was released by the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture but the units that are going to be inspected are kept secret for the moment.
Maggi and Brazil’s delegation also met with Chairman Zhao Shuanglian of COFCO, China’s largest food processor and trader, according to the minister’s Facebook page. The ministry did not provide further details on the meeting.
Brazil filed 102 complaints against China at World Trade Organisation (WTO) since the "rotten meat" scandal that led to a ban for some Brazilian meat producers.
