Brazil expects pork exports to Singapore to increase

The Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA) reported that it had been informed by the Ministry of Agriculture about the opening of the Singapore market to new pork products from Brazil, such as pig trotters, ears and some other cuts. The authorization is valid for the 29 industrial plants that are already authorized to export pork to the country.
"Gaining access to Singapore for these products comes at a highly favorable time in business with this market. Only in 2020, nine new plants were enabled to ship products. The opening of the market for a product segment so appreciated in the region reinforces our position in Asia," declared Francisco Turra, president of ABPA.
Singapore is already a traditional buyer of pork from Brazil, placed just behind China and Hong Kong in the list of major destinations. Between January and July, the volume shipped in this market reached 32,000 tonnes, 49% more than in the same period last year.
