Revenue from exports from the high added value segment is also a record. In total, US$240 million were generated in the twelve months of 2023, a result 34.2% higher than the total obtained in 2022, with US$178.8 million.

In the month of December 2023 alone, 2.5 thousand tons were exported, a number 45.1% higher than the 1.7 thousand tons shipped in the same period in the twelfth month of the previous year. With this, revenues of US$20.2 million were generated, a balance 2.2% higher than the same comparative period in 2022, with US$19.8 million.

The main destination for exports from Brazil's poultry genetics sector, Mexico imported a total of 13.5 thousand tons in 2023, a number 72.7% higher than that recorded in 2022. Next are Senegal, with 3.7 thousand tons (+11.7%), Paraguay, with 2.7 thousand tons (-2%), South Africa, with 2.3 thousand tons (no comparative records in 2022) and Peru, with 1.4 thousand tons (+ 838.8%).

"The strong performance of the poultry genetics export sector in 2023 is an important indicator of international confidence in the biosecurity of poultry farming in Brazil. On the other hand, it also shows the increased relevance of the Brazilian sector as a safe haven for nations that face health challenges and need to replace squads", highlights Ricardo Santin, president of ABPA.
