Brazil: Egg exports total 18.4 thousand tons in 2024
Export revenue in 2024 totaled US$ 39.2 million, 37.9% lower than the same period last year, with US$ 63.2 million.
In December, Brazil's egg exports registered a sharp increase, reaching 2,054 tons, a figure 116.8% higher than that recorded in the same period last year, with 947 tons.
In revenue, there was an increase of 72.2%, with US$ 4.317 million in the last month of 2024, against US$ 2.507 million in the same period of 2023.
Chile ended the year as the largest importer of eggs from Brazil, with 6,871 tons (+141.4% compared to the previous year), followed by the United Arab Emirates, with 2,354 tons (+108.7%), the United States, with 2,115 tons (+84.9%), Japan, with 1,633 tons (-84.3%) and Qatar, with 1,107 tons (+7.1%).
"The sector’s exports, although pressured by high domestic demand for the product, remained sustained at levels well above those seen two years ago. At the same time, the last quarter of 2024 marked the beginning of a positive flow in Brazilian egg exports, at levels that should be sustained throughout 2025", highlights ABPA president Ricardo Santin.
