Brazil: Chicken meat shipments grew 9.4 percent in January
Revenue generated by exports reached US$ 826.4 million, 20.9% higher than the result obtained in the same period last year, with US$ 683.6 million.
The main destination for Brazilian chicken meat exports, China, imported 44.3 thousand tons of the product in January (+15% compared to the previous year). It was followed by the United Arab Emirates, with 38.9 thousand tons (stable), Saudi Arabia, with 31.8 thousand tons (-9%), Japan, with 28.1 thousand tons (-30%), South Africa, with 27.5 thousand tons (-14%), the European Union, with 22 thousand tons (+41%), the Philippines, with 20.4 thousand tons (+39%), South Korea, with 14.6 thousand tons (+14%), Iraq, with 14.6 thousand tons (+4%) and Singapore, with 14.1 thousand tons (+20%).
“China, the Philippines and other markets have maintained a significant positive flow of imports of Brazilian products, reinforcing positive prospects regarding the behavior of these markets throughout the year. Positive results are expected for next month from other markets with recent advances, such as Mexico, with the renewal of the food security program that positively influenced the purchase of Brazilian products”, advises the president of ABPA, Ricardo Santin.
The largest exporting state of chicken meat in Brazil, Paraná, shipped 180.7 thousand tons in January (+8.9%), followed by Santa Catarina, with 94.2 thousand tons (+3.9%), Rio Grande do Sul, with 58.2 thousand tons (+7.2%), São Paulo, with 26.1 thousand tons (+11.2%) and Goiás, with 23.4 thousand tons (+21.1%).
