Brazil: Chicken meat export revenue grows 13.6 percent in September

Shipments in September reached 400,000 tonnes, a volume 4.4% lower than the ninth month of last year, with 418,500 tonnes.

"Since March, the sector has maintained an average of exports above 400 thousand tons per month. The maintenance of strong international demand for the Brazilian product is also reflected in the average monthly prices, which are 19% above what we saw in 2021," analyzes ABPA president Ricardo Santin.

In the year, the sector's exports totaled 3.666 million tons, a volume 5.8% higher than the one accumulated between January and September 2021, with 3.466 thousand tons.

In revenue, the increase reached 31.1%, with US$ 7.373 billion in the first nine months of this year, against US$ 5.623 billion in the same period last year.

Among the main export destinations for the year, the United Arab Emirates stood out, with 348.6 thousand tons (+32.3%), the Philippines, with 188.7 thousand tons (+42.2%), the European Union, with 182 .4 thousand tons (+27.1%), South Korea, with 139.2 thousand tons (+61.3%) and Mexico, with 117.4 thousand tons (+22.8%).

"With higher international prices throughout this year, the result of Brazilian sales revenue was comparatively higher compared to the period between January and September 2021. There is a strong increase in the foreign exchange result of sales for practically all major importers. Also, of the 15 main markets, there was a significant increase in volumes in 10 of them, reinforcing Brazil's position as the main world exporter and an important support at a time of global concern about food safety," highlights Luís Rua, ABPA's market director.
