Azerbaijan places ban on Russian poultry and red meat
Azerbaijan’s Food Safety Agency announced that poultry and animal meat imports from two regions in Russia are temporarily restricted due to identified cases of Newcastle disease in Russia’s Krasnodar, as well as foot-and-mouth disease in Russia’s Khabarovsk regions.
"In this regard, it was decided to temporarily restrict the import of poultry and poultry meat products from the Krasnodar, as well as livestock and meat products from the Khabarovsk", explains the agency.
Along with the ban, Azerbaijan’s Food Safety Agency appealed to the State Customs Committee of the country to disinfect vehicles passing through customs checkpoints that arrived directly or in transit through these regions of Russia.
