Argentinian company sends the first shipment of chilled beef to China

Argentina sent the first shipment of chilled beef to China after the sanitary protocol between the two countries was signed last year. The same protocol came into force in the first days of June and enabled the entry to that destination of chilled cuts with and without bone. Before, trade with China only allowed frozen cuts without bone.
The shipment consisted of high-value cuts cooled and vacuum packed at the model plant that Swift Argentina has in the province of Santa Fe, which is authorized to send meat to more than 40 countries.
Swift Argentina, a company owned by Minerva Foods group, was founded in 1907 and produces cuts of meat and other value-added products such as hamburgers, sausages, and others. It exports its products to the European Union, the United States, Chile, China, Brazil, and Russia, among others.
In the last two years, Argentinian beef exports to China have increased by 90% in value terms, going from $523 million in 2017 to $998 million last year.
