Anuga is ready to celebrate Frozen Food sector
On March 6 the world is celebrating Frozen Food Day, after an initiative launched in 1984 by the American President, Ronald Reagan, and even if Anuga trade fair is not going to open its doors until October 5 the organizers announced that the event will host a special section dedicated to this segment.
Anuga Frozen Food, which is the central platform for the international frozen food industry, is going to have this year over 500 suppliers to present the complete international spectrum of products, fields of application and services. The offer ranges from fish and meat through to fruit and vegetables as well as ready-made meals in different portions and sizes. The trade fair unites the frozen food industry with the trade and the out-of-home market because the frozen food segment is one of the most important trendsetters here. The manufacturers are not as successful at developing new products and continually improved solutions that are more convenient for the consumers in hardly any other segment. At Anuga, the international industry regularly presents its innovations for both channels - the food trade and the out-of-home market.
A comparison of the pro capita consumption in Germany emphasis the triumphal march of the frozen food products. 35 years ago the pro capita consumption was 17.2 kilogrammes and in 2018 it was already around 47 kilogrammes per German citizen - with an upward tendency. With a turnover share of 12%, the frozen food industry is one of the five large sub-sectors of the food industry, according to the German Frozen Food Institute.
The institute, which has been the exclusive partner of Anuga Frozen Food since 2013, will also be represented on-site at the trade fair to offer important information, dates and facts on the frozen food market.
