Alliance Group opens a new venison plant

The 100% farmer-owned co-operative invested $15.9 million in its new processing facility, which will employ 60 people once it operates at full capacity, Rural Life reports.

"This investment at Lorneville reinforces the co-operative’s position as a leading and innovative processor, and shows how serious we are about strengthening our presence in the deer industry," said David Surveyor, CEO of Alliance Group.

Mr. Surveyor explained that the company plans to increase out-of-season chilled consumption and at the same time to increase its sales of seasonal chilled venison.

Alliance Group is marketing its venison products in Europe and also in the United States.
