ASF on the German-Polish border

Both cases are about 500 m from the border with Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Brandenburg.

"It's good that we have an ASF protective fence along the German-Polish border at an early stage and are establishing a so-called ASF protective corridor by building a second permanent fence. This double barrier creates additional security and is an important measure to prevent the entry of ASF via migrating wild boars and to significantly reduce the risk of spreading the disease," said the Minister for Climate Protection, Agriculture, Rural Areas and the Environment.

“But the fences are only a part of the measures against ASF. Another essential building block is the hunter community. Hunters are called upon to increasingly hunt wild boar and look for fallen game." says Backhaus.
