150 companies from Spain's meat industry gathered at Meat Attraction 2017

The event, which was organized by IFEMA and ANICE, represented an important support for the country's meat sector, since it is the fourth largest Spanish industry, generating 22,000 million euros.

Amongst MEAT ATTRACTION 2017's offer and in the area of meat products, participated companies such as Torre de Núñez, a Galician company dedicated to sausage production, offered a wide variety of products, as well as its national products, with which they expect to double their production of hams within three years. Torre de Núñez received last June the recognition of the iTQi Superior Taste Awards 2017 for its product 'Salchichas Sin +', after a year in the market positioning itself as a leading product in the market because it does not contain allergens.

On the other hand, Interovic and Provacuno, the interprofessional organizations of the meats of lamb, lamb, and goat, and bovine, respectively, showed the procedures that will follow in the next months to promote the national products abroad, launching new campaigns in fairs and congresses of the agri-food sector. Interovic follows the motto "Look for the national origin" ("Busca el origen nacional"), with which it sponsored tastings, workshops, and tastings in MEAT ATTRACTION; while Provacuno was based on "Beef from Spain", intended to reach countries like China, Japan or Saudi Arabia.

Another novelty from the fair was a new concept of cuisine, dedicated to the general society, that the company Moralejo Selección presented with the "easy roast". It consists of pieces of the shoulder, leg and lamb's rib cage; and shoulder of lamb, which is sold in supermarkets fresh, seasoned and vacuum packed.

Companies such as Dibal or CSB also participated at the event, presenting technological systems that improve the quality of the procedures that are carried out in the meat facilities. Dibal highlighted the CLS-4000 weighing and labeling system, which allows labeling in C and prints Windows fonts and logos, making it one of the most economical solutions on the market. CSB presented software and automation solutions as well as image analysis for production work, with broad views of the future towards "Industry 4.0" and the optimizing of the use of raw materials, being a crucial point for the sector since the costs of using such materials are very high.

IFEMA is the Trade Fair Institution of Madrid. Its 30-year experience of staging trade fairs has made it the most important of its kind in Spain and one of the leaders in Europe. Its activities center on the staging of commercial events representative of the different industries and the managing of its space and infrastructure for every type of activity: from trade fairs organized by third parties to conventions, congresses and any type of meeting or event. Its principal aims are to generate wealth and development for the Madrid Region and project the image of Madrid within and beyond our borders.

The National Meat Processing Industries Association of Spain (ANICE) is a non-profitmaking organization formed by more than 600 companies active in the meat sector (slaughterhouses, cutting plants and meat processing industries), spread throughout the Spanish territory. This makes ANICE the biggest meat Association in Spain, both by the number of members and by their joint production, which exceeds 60% of the total national production of meat products, reaching even higher values is some specialties, as the Iberian pork products, where the global production reaches 90% of the total.
