China signs $300 million deal with Israel to buy lab-grown meat

China has just signed a trade agreement worth 300 million dollars with Israel in order to collaborate on cutting down on harmful emissions and pollution, as the most populated country on earth wants to produce laboratory-grown meat, with zero carbon emissions.

According to Quartz magazine, there are eight companies in the world that grow meat from animal cells in laboratories, and three of those companies are Israeli based: SuperMeat, Future Meat Technologies, and Meat the Future.

This trade deal will open the Chinese market for lab-grown meat. China imported meat worth more than $10 billion in 2016, according to the International Trade Centre.
